Reminders for this Thursday

Dear Berlin Group,
I hope you all had a chance to watch the film "Head-On". Please remember to blog a reaction to the film for Thursday's
discussion and also pull out a few themes you notice in the film (and from the reading assignment handout).

Here are a few other films that may be of interest to you. This first link addresses some of the violence young people face in Berlin:

http://www.knallhart-derfilm.de

The term "knallhart" means hardcore.

The second link, du bist nicht allein: http://www.oefilm.de/

"...addresses long-term unemployed former East Berliners living in
Marzahn. Marzahn was the largest communist block housing development
in Berlin (30 minutes outside the city center) and during the Third
Reich was used as a camp for Sinti and Roma. Since the mid-nineties,
they have tried to re-energize the area."

These sources were recommended by a Berliner.
An excursion to Marzahn is recommended.

See you all on Thursday.
p.s. remember:
-- to let me know if you would like to reserve a $10 ticket to the May 15 showing of "Diary of Anne Frank".
--forward your flight itinerary once you have it
--if you have not done so already, let me know if you have a roommate preference

just to let you know, I didn't get this post. I don't know if others are having the same problem.

emails about posts generally take a day after the post has been made to arrive. this is inconvenient information-wise when assignments for thursday are created wednesday and we don't find out about it until thursday morning. regular Emails would be more efficient if time is of the essence.
